We are recruiting for a Ward Clerk Supervisor who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within East & North Herts NHS Trust for a Band 4 Ward Clerk Supervisor as part of the Ward Clerk structure within the Inpatient ward areas.
We are looking for applicants with strong management, administrative and organisational skills as well as the ability to work within a team but using own initiative when required.
The post holder will be able to demonstrate good communication skills both verbal and written and enjoy a challenge on a day-to-day basis. Excellent Knowledge of Lorenzo & Nervecentre is essential for this position although full training will be available if required for the right candidate.
This role is predominately Monday-Friday with some flex required for evenings and weekends and a proportion of Bank Holidays.

Main duties of the job
The Ward Clerk Supervisor will supervise Ward Clerks and Ward Clerk services.
Provide clerical support to clinical staff based on wards/clinical units, including the receipt and resolution, where possible, of enquiries from patients, visitors and staff. May also function, where necessary as a floating Ward Clerk as the ward/clinical unit receptionist.
To complete and update e-roster for each Ward clerk in your remit.
Authorise any leave annual or study requests via the e-roster system.
Co-ordinate and supervise on a day-to-day basis the activities of Ward Clerks within the directorate organising cover for sickness and leave arrangements.

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent qualification/ demonstrable experience.
* Previous Office/Administrative experience in an NHS environment
* Word Processing and Computer literacy skills to RSA3/NVQ3 level or relevant experience.
* Experience of dealing with confidential information.

* Previous experience of Supervising others/ the work of others
