Our friendly, hard working team at Asplands and Woburn Surgeries aim high. Reception is a very busy department and the role includes responding to appointment requests and answering queries from patients either on the telephone, in person or via the website. Training will be given to empower the successful candidate to navigate patients to the correct solution. There is a great deal of patient contact and therefore a lot of opportunity for job satisfaction.
We work in a very supportive and collaborative environment with training provided.
Days and hours for this role will be :-
Monday 8am - 1pm
Thursday 8am to 6pm
Friday 1.30pm to 6.30pm
This is a total of 20 hours per week.
The pay is £12.21 per hour.
Main duties of the job
Duties can include but are not limited to,
Greeting and directing patients
Booking appointments
Processing of information
Assisting patients as required.
To act as the central point of contact for patients
Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
Front desk duties, including correct procedure for arriving patients.
Signpost patients to the correct service
Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
Read code data on SystmOne
Photocopy documentation as required
Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Direct requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the Medical Secretary.
Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area always
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
