About the Role
As a General Assistant, you will thrive in a fast-paced physical environment, playing a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and smooth operations within the hospital. Your work will directly impact the experience of both staff and patients, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and operational efficiency are upheld across the site.

What you’ll be responsible for:
* Building and Site Management: Unlock the building each day, exchange large bins outside, and ensure safe and efficient acceptance and distribution of deliveries throughout the site. You’ll also be responsible for exchanging medical gases, maintaining floors using industrial machines, and flushing water outlets as required. You will assist with the internal movement of equipment and furniture, ensuring all areas remain accessible and operational.Domestic Duties: Perform essential domestic cleaning duties as needed to maintain the highest standards of hygiene throughout the hospital.
* Customer Service: Ensure all interactions with staff, visitors, and the public are handled professionally, confidentially, and courteously, providing a positive experience for everyone who enters the hospital.
* Communication and Coordination: Collect and deliver parcels to various departments, ensure the smooth transfer of food trolleys to ward areas, and manage the safe removal and storage of clinical and other household waste. You’ll be a key contact for fire services, providing direction when alarms are activated and responding to lift/fire alarms as part of the emergency response team.
Ideally, you will have the following skills and experience:
* Experience in a fast-paced physical environment,
* Proficient in spoken and written English,
* Effective communication abilities,
* Ideally, certified in Manual Handling,
* Attention to detail
