About The Role
Based in our growing Edinburgh team, you will assist in the production of the final AutoCAD drawings for a range of projects, including swept path assessments, junction layouts, cycleway design, housing developments, and large-scale renewable projects across Europe.
The Edinburgh team offers a unique opportunity to work fully remotely. However, as the team meets regularly, you should be able to access Edinburgh for team meetings. This requirement should not preclude applications from anywhere within the UK.
In your role, you will develop a sound understanding of the client brief. Using your initiative and technical skills, you will support the wider (multi-disciplinary) project team through the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of tasks within deadlines.
This will ensure the project remains within budget and meets standards. You will be responsible for delivering assigned tasks under minimal supervision, planning your work to meet objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Implement project requirements to fully meet client specifications in accordance with relevant standards.
* Have experience with AutoCAD; experience with Civils is beneficial but not essential.
* Prepare discipline-specific designs, drawings, and schedules as outlined in the Project Quality.
* Possess a solid understanding of Autodesk Vehicle Tracking; familiarity with modelling oversized (Abnormal Indivisible Load) vehicles is preferred.
* Assist other CAD Technicians to ensure all drawings are complete and meet tight deadlines.
* Experience with QGIS is desirable but not essential.
* Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure timely completion of jobs.
* Manage your workload effectively, ensuring all relevant information from briefs is incorporated.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Essential
* HNC in Computer Aided Design or Civil Engineering
* Considerable experience working within a consultancy environment using AutoCAD and Vehicle Tracking
* Background in Transport Planning or Roads Engineering
* Experience working with abnormal loads related to renewable projects
* Minimum 3 years of experience using Civil 3D
Preferred
* Skills in QGIS and Infraworks
* Full Driving License
