These roles will reside within our Life business unit as part of the Change & Transformation team. The overall purpose of the Change team is to provide oversight and assurance on all aspects of business change and transformation delivery for or impacting our Life business, while ensuring alignment with both our Life and wider M&G strategy.
These roles own the end-to-end delivery of medium to highly complex projects. You will be responsible for defining the business case, project objectives, scope, resources, and expected business outcomes, along with detailed project plans. You will be expected to implement and adhere to project management methodologies and governance, providing the project team and key delivery partners with clear direction to deliver and leverage the expected benefits.
Key responsibilities for this role:
1. Own the end-to-end delivery of medium to highly complex projects, identifying key business stakeholders; defining business case, project objectives, scope, resources, and expected benefits and outcomes.
2. Collaborate with the Project Sponsor to communicate project outcomes and benefits across the organization to garner support and buy-in.
3. Create and maintain high-quality project plans with built-in risk mitigation strategies and work packages that support delivery, ensuring responsibilities are assigned.
4. Evaluate delivery options and team performance, providing feedback and adjusting plans regularly based on scope, schedule, budget, risks, outcomes, and benefits.
5. Provide forecasts of future Change and BAU resources required for the project.
6. Guide the project team to ensure the delivery of the required benefits and outcomes within the specified time, cost, quality, scope, benefit, and risk tolerances.
7. Conduct lessons learned sessions during the project, implementing recommendations to improve team learning and sharing insights with the broader project management community.
8. Adhere to governance standards, including maintaining accurate RACI and RAID logs and ServiceNow records.
9. Produce management information and ensure all mandatory documentation (business case, requirement documents, stage gates, test plans, change requests, closure documents) is completed and signed off.
10. Forecast external costs, understand drivers of cost variance, and take actions to control costs or raise change controls.
11. Monitor and report progress to stakeholders, including sponsors, programme managers, and steering committees, including ongoing business case viability.
12. Identify and own issues, risks, and dependencies, making mitigation recommendations and escalating as needed.
13. Complete project handover to BAU and conduct benefits realization activities to close projects.
14. Manage resource planning and motivate the project team, fostering high standards and developing others through guidance, mentoring, or coaching.
15. Manage relationships with teams such as Technology, external suppliers, and other business functions to ensure timely delivery.
16. Support the Lead Programme Management Officer in establishing governance and ensuring the Project Change Standard is applied.
17. Conduct training workshops to improve project and change management capabilities across the team.

* Proven track record of end-to-end project delivery, including turning around failing projects and gaining stakeholder buy-in.

* Experience working in highly controlled and regulated environments.
* Effective collaboration with stakeholders at various levels.
