Test Engineer - Electrical / Mechanical
Are you an engineer who enjoys getting hands-on, solving real-world problems, and seeing how things perform outside of theory? We’re looking for a curious and practical engineer to join a collaborative team working on the testing, evaluation, and improvement of advanced engineering systems used in challenging environments.
This role offers a great mix of lab-based work, technical analysis, and cross-team collaboration - ideal for someone who likes variety and continuous learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Testing and evaluating complex electromechanical systems in laboratory and real-world conditions
* Collecting, analysing, and interpreting performance data to understand how products behave
* Using specialist test and measurement equipment to assess electrical, mechanical, and acoustic performance
* Developing and improving test methods, procedures, and documentation
* Supporting existing products while contributing to the evaluation of new ideas and designs
* Producing clear, well-structured technical reports and recommendations
* Sharing findings with engineers, production teams, and non-technical stakeholders
* Working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to help improve processes and product quality
What We’re Looking For
* A background in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a similar technical field
* A practical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Experience working in a test, lab, or hands-on engineering environment
* Confidence analysing data and explaining results clearly, both in writing and in person
* Comfortable working with standard engineering and analysis software
* A collaborative, proactive approach and willingness to learn new technologies
* Interest in acoustics, sensing technologies, or electromechanical systems (helpful, but not essential)
