This role is within the Sports and Welfare Fund (S&WF) - an independent membership organisation dedicated to promoting sports, social, and recreational activities that enhance the health and wellbeing of our members. Open to both serving and retired employees of West Midlands Fire Service, the Fund is supported through a monthly subscription. We are seeking a proactive and digitally savvy Events & Digital Support Assistant to join our dynamic team. Working closely with the Events Co-ordinator and Administration staff, you will play a key role in supporting and strengthening our operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause, supporting the wellbeing of our members through engaging and impactful activities. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team with the flexibility to shape your working hours. Responsibilities assist in the planning and delivery of events and activities liaise with event companies and distribute tickets and solve any issues promote events and initiatives through engaging advertising and communications support membership growth through outreach and promotional campaigns manage and update content across our social media platforms and website provide general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Experience and skills What we are looking for: strong organisational and event planning skills creative flair for advertising and promotion confidence using digital tools, social media, and website content management a team player with excellent communication skills flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends (counted within weekly hours). Essential skills or experience GCSE maths and English (above grade 4) able to drive able to work on own initiative as well as in a team. Desirable skills or experience qualification in areas such as media, digital skills, events, sales, or marketing.
