We are recruiting for a warm, community:focused school on Canvey Island that is looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their team in January 2026.
If you are tired of the long commute off the island or simply want to work in a setting where staff and students really know each other, this is the ideal role for you. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running in the New Year.
You will be the vital link for students who find the standard classroom environment challenging.
* Engagement: Helping students with lower attention spans or learning difficulties stay focused on their tasks.
* SEN Support: Providing tailored 1:1 support for students with Autism, ADHD, or moderate learning difficulties.
* Confidence Building: fostering a safe space where students feel comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them.
* Behavioural Guidance: Using positive reinforcement to manage low:level disruption and anxiety.
What We Need From You
To secure the upper end of the pay scale (GBP110/day), you will need to demonstrate strong capability and experience.
* Experience: Previous experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant, or Support Worker is essential.
* Attitude: You must be reliable, resilient, and possess a can:do attitude.
* Local Knowledge: A genuine interest in supporting the local community in Canvey.
* Compliance: An active Enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness for one without delay).
