Exciting Opportunity: Join Our Expanding Neonatal Services Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust!
We are looking for passionate, driven and experienced Speech and Language Therapists to become part of our dynamic and ever-growing team.
Join us at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon, where we foster a supportive and friendly work environment dedicated to delivering exceptional care.
In your role, you will be at the heart of providing specialist support to infants and families through the Family Integrated Care model. You will assess, diagnose, and manage early communication and feeding challenges in newborns affected by prematurity or medical conditions, making a lasting difference in their lives.
You will work alongside a diverse, multidisciplinary team including Neonatal Consultants, Nurses, Infant Feeding Teams, AHPs, Psychologists, to deliver evidence-based care and support, ensuring the best outcomes for our neonatal patients.
This role offers you the opportunity to take on an exciting leadership position that combines both operational and clinical responsibilities. You will play a critical role in to service improvement and audit processes.

Main duties of the job

Essential
* Recognised Speech and Language Qualification -Degree or equivalent
* Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council.
* Evidence of Completion of relevant specialist short courses or equivalent in-house training.
* Post Graduate Dysphagia Qualification or equivalent in-house training.
Desirable
* Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) & relevant specialist groups/ Clinical Excellence Networks
* Experience working at Neonatal Dysphagia Competency Level C
Experience
Essential
* Experience working with neonates and infants and/or children with complex needs
* Experience of independently managing feeding and swallowing difficulties associated with a neonatal or paediatric caseload
* Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
* Experience working in a neonatal or acute paediatric setting
* Experience of supervising junior staff, students or clinical assistants.
* Experience in delivering education to other health care professionals and to families.
Knowledge
Essential
* Knowledge and experience of dysphagia assessment and management to highly specialist level.
* Knowledge of varying approaches to the assessment and management of patients with dysphagia including instrumental assessments (Video fluoroscopy / FEES).
* Knowledge of early communication needs and support within neonatal and acute paediatric settings.
* Understanding of the ethical issues in paediatric and neonatal dysphagia management

* Demonstrates ability to be a good team member as well as to work independently and manage own caseload
* Standard key board skills & the ability to use IT packages such as Word, Outlook, Power point & Excel
