Job Description:
Do you have experience in land quality assessment and environmental management? Would you be interested in supporting our expanding requirements for environmental enhancements and flood risk protection across the UK?
We are recruiting Geo-Environmental staff at experienced levels to support projects involving land quality assessment, management, restoration, river and coastal engineering, habitat creation, river restoration, and mine water treatment schemes.
The roles involve cross-office, project, and discipline collaboration. These positions are client-facing, requiring confidence in project delivery and stakeholder engagement, as well as experience in preparing bids and proposals. Successful candidates will also mentor early career staff.
Location:
Flexible, with a preference for northern offices (Saltaire/Skipton/Newcastle/Warrington). JBA supports agile working for greater flexibility.
Qualifications and experience:
Applicants should have a degree in geology, chemistry, engineering geology, or earth/environmental sciences. Chartered status is valued; candidates not yet chartered but working towards it will be considered.
Core skills and experience:
* Ability to collaborate and influence interdisciplinary teams.
* UK-based experience in land quality investigations, ground investigations, site restoration, and re-use of soil materials, especially in coastal, estuarine, and riverine settings.
* Project delivery experience with strong commercial awareness and client interaction skills.
* Valid UK driving license.
Desirable skills and experience:
* Experience in design and build environments.
* Experience in coastal and river settings.
* Experience in ground investigations and land quality assessment.
* Mentoring early career staff.
* Membership in a professional institution.
The right candidate will be:
* Organized with good prioritization skills.
* Pragmatic and solution-oriented.
* Self-motivated, capable of managing workload independently and within a team.
