Assembly Operative
Are you an experienced technician with a background in mechanical and electronic assembly? All Square Recruitment is exclusively hiring for a skilled Assembly Operative to join a leading manufacturer of weigh, price, and label equipment.
Working in a busy factory environment, you will be responsible for the full assembly process—from soldering components to software loading and final commissioning.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Team Leader, you will build assemblies from technical drawings using a variety of component parts. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assembly: Perform electronic and mechanical assembly using provided hand tools.
* Soldering: Undertake high-quality soldering of component parts.
* Technical Setup: Load software and commission machines prior to Quality Control (QC).
* Testing: Conduct PAT testing on both component parts and fully assembled products.
* Maintenance: Perform fault finding where necessary to ensure equipment meets standards.
* Safety: Work within Health & Safety procedures and Risk Assessment guidelines at all times.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for a flexible team player who is willing to learn all aspects of the job.
Essential Requirements:
* At least three years of mechanical assembly experience.
* Recent experience (within the last two years) in soldering and assembling electrical equipment.
* Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and follow technical work instructions.
* Proficiency using a Windows-based PC.
* The ability to work independently under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
Desirable Qualities:
* Experience within another manufacturing company in the last five years.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
* An ambitious outlook regarding career development and learning new skills.
Working Conditions & Benefits
* Hours: 39 hours per week.
* Early Finish: Monday to Thursday (7:00 am – 3:30 pm) and Friday (7:00 am – 2:30 pm).
* Environment: This is a physical role in a production setting involving regular manual handling, standing for long periods, and bending to work under machinery.
