Overview
Can you support the development and implementation of BRC’s international influencing strategies on key policy thematic and technical areas? We’re looking for a Humanitarian Policy Adviser who will strengthen BRC’s voice and influence on key thematic areas.
A day in the life
We’re looking for a Humanitarian Policy Adviser who will support the development and implementation of international policy and influencing strategies. You’ll shape agendas, inform decision-making and advance systemic policy change.
The role will strengthen the British Red Cross’ influence on key thematic areas through evidence-based policy, analysis and research. You’ll work collaboratively with a wide range of international humanitarian programme, policy and law colleagues and influence on thematic and regional policy priorities.
The work you will do will be crucial to the work of the organisation, and therefore vital to the lives of those in crisis. Your skills directly contribute to supporting our humanitarian efforts. You\'ll make a real difference in the lives of those we aim to help.
What we are looking for
* You’ll have a strong understanding of policy and decision-making processes. With a good knowledge of the international humanitarian system and policy frameworks.
* You’ll have proven research experience, policy and technical expertise and excellent analytical and influencing skills. You’ll be comfortable critically analysing humanitarian policy and practice and writing high quality policy briefings.
* Naturally insightful, you can analyse and interpret information to communicate and persuade decision makers. You’re able to influence and network with decision makers and represent the organisation at external fora.
* You have experience in designing and delivering plans to drive forward policy recommendations.
* Excellent organisational, agility and project management skills.
