An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Peebles Media Group – Scotland’s leading independent publisher – as digital marketing and social media manager on its wedding title, Tie the Knot Scotland.
Scotland’s number one wedding title is filled with advice and inspiration to make planning a Scottish wedding stress-free and fun. It connects couples to the suppliers they need to know about and shines a spotlight on the best venues across the country.
The role of digital marketing and social media manager works closely with the advertising and editorial teams and is responsible for creating and optimising digital content and output, making sure it follows brand standards and grows traffic and engagement across all social and web channels.
You will come on board at an exciting point in the title’s evolution as it continues to implement a new digital strategy that's full of opportunities for growth and innovation.
What you will be doing
Working as part of the brand’s small team, you’ll be responsible for:
* Taking a lead role in driving and growing traffic to Tie the Knot Scotland’s website and custom-built directory
* Using Google Analytics 4 to monitor, analyse and report website and campaign statistics and trends to internal stakeholders and clients
* Producing accurate, well-written articles with a focus on SEO on wedding-related topics
* Planning, creating and scheduling engaging multi-platform content in a consistent voice across the brand’s social media channels, with a particular focus on short-form video content
* Monitoring messages, comments and tagged posts across social media channels and implementing the appropriate responses and proactive initiatives
* Growing followers and engagement across all social channels via paid and organic campaigns and creative ideas
* Working with the editorial and advertising teams to develop social media strategy and calendar
* Acting as a social media advocate and brand guardian, providing social media guidance/ knowledge to the wider team as required
* Liaising with advertising clients to fulfill digital packages and support business objectives, including paid-for social media campaigns, bespoke newsletters, online advertorials and more
* Identifying future opportunities for content and revenue streams across all digital platforms
* Filming and editing video content for social media, making use of the latest trends and trending audio
* Managing website content and directory-related admin
What we are looking for from you
The role is full time and office based (35 hours per week, Mon-Fri).
You’ll have:
* Minimum 2 years experience working as a digital marketing professional, content creator, online journalist or similar with proven track record of growing engagement, traffic and followers across a variety of digital platforms
* Excellent working knowledge of Google Analytics 4
* Competence in using a content management system (ideally Umbraco), design and image editing tools (e.g. Photoshop and Canva), and a variety of social media scheduling apps
* A solid understanding of SEO strategies, tools and implementation of such, including an awareness of how to optimise content for AI
* The ability to write clean and compelling copy, whether for short-form captions or long-read articles, and the confidence to edit others’ copy for SEO
* An aptitude for filming and editing video content and turning it into captivating visual stories
* Your finger on the pulse when it comes to social media – you’ll know what trends to tap into and demonstrate a passion for engaging current followers and building new audiences
* Superb organisation and admin skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects/features at a time
* Lots of creative ideas, a solutions-based approach, attention to detail and the ability to work proactively and accurately under pressure
* Enthusiasm and initiative and, ideally, an interest in weddings, celebrity, fashion and lifestyle content
Salary: around £25,000-£30,000, depending on experience.
