Job Description
Oversee day-to-day engineering activities to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to cost targets. Serve as the primary engineering interface for external customers and suppliers, fostering strong technical collaboration and communication. Provide expert technical support and innovative solutions to resolve engineering challenges related to mechanical products.
Contribute technical guidance and engineering input to support suppliers queries, build and test activities, defect resolution, and change management processes. Define, develop and manage requirements and acceptance criteria for mechanical products integrated within complex platforms, systems, or programmes.
Your Skills and Experiences
* Proven track record in delivering mechanical systems across the full engineering development lifecycle
* Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and successfully drive performance enhancements
* Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in specifying a range of mechanical equipment and components
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BEng/MEng or equivalent) in a relevant STEM discipline
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartered status with a recognised professional engineering institution

As the Principal Mechanical Platform Systems Engineer, you will be joining a dynamic Components Team with BAE Systems, where you will play a key role in delivering cutting edge mechanical products used across major systems and programmes supporting the Royal Navy.
We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
