The Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically minded person to work as Technical Officer (Compliance) in our Estates team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, Compliance & Sustainability. This role is for three days per week (0.6 FTE). Working days to be agreed with the successful candidate.
This is a varied role focused on ensuring compliance with statutory obligations across key technical areas including electrical systems, radiology equipment, fire safety, gas, water, and safe working practices. You will maintain and develop compliance records and statutory documentation.
You will also lead improvement projects, supervise contractors, and enhance our data capture and reporting systems. Your work will directly contribute to the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our campus.
Required skills and experience
The successful candidate will:
• Be educated to degree level in a numerate or technical discipline.
• Have strong IT skills, including advanced Excel.
• Preferably have experience of facilities management and safety compliance, though this is not essential.
• Have excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Have a proactive, independent approach with a commitment to equality and continuous development
