We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT to play a key role in the next phase of our digital transformation. This is a pivotal role where you will help shape and implement our Digital Programme, combining strategic vision with hands-on technical leadership. You’ll work across the organisation to ensure we deliver outstanding digital services to both internal and external stakeholders.
We’re looking for an experienced IT leader with strong communication and relationship-building skills. You should be client-focused, collaborative, and practical, with an excellent understanding of data security and information governance. Experience managing suppliers, budgets, and service levels is essential, as is familiarity with ITIL principles and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital, Data and Technology, you will be responsible for all aspects of IT operations, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service delivery. As a key member of the Academy’s leadership team you will play a central role in driving innovation, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the user experience across the Academy.
We are well advanced in our transition to Office 365 and Azure, and we’re looking for someone with the technical expertise to lead the ongoing development and integration of these platforms. You’ll help us fully leverage their capabilities and ensure they work seamlessly with our other SaaS applications.
In this role, you will oversee the delivery of IT services and infrastructure, manage digital projects, and support other teams delivering change. You’ll lead on cybersecurity, working closely with our Governance team to ensure robust controls are in place. You’ll also be responsible for managing supplier relationships, ensuring value for money, and maintaining high service standards.
You will own and regularly test our IT Business Continuity and Incident Response plans, promote user engagement through training and support, and lead a capable IT team to foster collaboration and continuous improvement. Staying ahead of technology trends will be key, as will working closely with teams across the Academy to understand their needs and support them through change.
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re curious, adaptable, and open to new technologies and ways of working. Most importantly, you’ll be aligned with our values and passionate about making a positive impact. We’re committed to inclusion, learning, and creating a sense of belonging—and we hope you are too.
