Staff Nurse - Endoscopy

Our JAG accredited Endoscopy service, based at Furness General Hospital, is looking to recruit Band 5 Nurses to join our established, motivated and friendly team. Our Endoscopy services are predominantly nurse-led, from admission to discharge, and require a high degree of clinical autonomy.
Registered nurses will be trained to assist Surgeons, Gastroenterologists, Respiratory Consultants and Nurse Endoscopists in a range of specialised and technical procedures. Support is provided through a dedicated competency framework, online learning resources and guidance from our Endoscopy practice educator team.
Key Responsibilities
* Communicate effectively and document appropriately with patients, whanau, and colleagues.
* Work well within a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
* Support endoscopic procedures in a nurse‑led environment.
* Partner closely with colleagues to maintain compliance with JAG requirements.
* Engage in audit and governance activities to uphold and improve standards.

Person Specification
Results from the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay website: The service operates from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal – and a range of community healthcare premises.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Submission for a Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) is required to check for previous criminal convictions.
Salary is £32,073 to £39,043 per annum, pro rata.
