Our client CalaChem are currently looking for a Tanker Off-Loader to join their team based in Grangemouth on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for an experienced Tanker Operator who is trained and competent in forklift truck operations. For more information on this role see below:
Purpose
To support the Effluent Treatment Plant team within CalaChem, ensuring 3rd part tanker offloading operations are managed in a timely fashion and other materials are stored and moved as required to meet the business needs.
Principle Accountabilities
To operate plant and equipment in full compliance with company procedures, ensuring that appropriate safety and environmental guidelines are followed
Carries out material movements throughout the area, including, loading and unloading of vehicles, loading and unloading of raw material and waste bulk tankers, labelling and locating materials within designated stock areas.
Assisting the ETP operation team, when directed to do so.
Specific Duties
Have an overview of raw material stock levels and marshalling et ETP, highlighting when they see an obvious deficiency in the stock levels of materials.
Preparing waste packaging for disposal, including applying appropriate labelling
To improve and sustain housekeeping standards, ensuring both internal and external areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in order to maximize safety, efficiency and minimize costs.
Carry out the weekly and monthly structured monitoring programme, ensuring that appropriate safety and selected plant equipment including fork lift trucks, are in place and operational.
Communicate issues to management when appropriate. Clearly communicate to the ETP Operator on an ongoing basis
Decision Making Authority
Decisions on which waste steams to accept and offload will be made by others in advance. However if the material looks different to the specification the tanker operator will have the authority to stop the offloading and defer to the technical manager for advice.
Key Competencies
Due to the considerable degree of interactions with external customers the job holder will require to have good interpersonal skills.
The ETP Tanker Operator must be self-starting, show a flexible approach and be willing to take on responsibility this will involve working in a responsible and professional manner the person would be expected to have experience working in a similar role within industry. The person would be computer literate and have some knowledge of Windows/Microsoft office operating system and plant performance recording.
Qualifications
The individual will receive the appropriate training for the role and needs to ensure they actively keep their training plan up to date
Fork Lift Truck experience would be advantageous
