InterBay Asset Finance began in 2018 with a simple vision: to be a lender that unlocks business' potential. Treating every case with respect, with the aim to take as much hassle away as possible.
We are now looking for a Credit Manager to join our small, close‑knit team. In this role, you will underwrite Asset Finance transactions to the highest standard, providing clear, well‑reasoned recommendations while delivering outstanding service to our sales team and broker network.
Your work will directly support InterBay Asset Finance's goals and contribute to our continued growth.
What you will be doing?
As a Credit Manager, you will play a central role in underwriting Asset Finance transactions up to £450k and recommending decisions on cases outside your delegated authority. You will complete detailed credit reviews and work closely with our Sales team and broker partners to deliver an exceptional service experience.
This is an opportunity to join a friendly, highly collaborative team in a hands‑on underwriting role. You will gain a thorough understanding of customers' businesses, and shape well‑structured deals that work for both the customer and InterBay. Your decisions will have a visible impact on the wider business and will help drive our continued growth.
Your responsibilities will include…
* Undertaking full credit assessments of Asset Finance proposals, taking ownership of decisions to ensure they align with the agreed risk appetite, policy, and delegated authority framework.
* Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in Asset Finance, bringing advanced knowledge of sector dynamics, customer industries, and the assets being funded.
* Delivering high‑quality credit assessments focused on cash generation, clearly highlighting key risks and mitigants while meeting agreed service level standards to keep the business competitive and risk‑controlled.
* Reviewing, analysing, and making well‑reasoned recommendations to the Head of Underwriting
* Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, customers to support sustainable growth, and confidently justifying or negotiating amended terms where required.
* Using your specialist understanding of the Asset Finance market to structure proposals that meet the needs of both InterBay and our customers, while ensuring Treating Customers Fairly standards are upheld.
* Bringing a positive, solutions‑focused approach to underwriting, balancing commerciality in a competitive market with adherence to OSB Group's risk framework.
* Completing credit and portfolio reviews as required by policy or at the request of the Head of Underwriting.
What's in it for you?
We offer a base salary dependent on experience of between £55,000 - £65,000 and a competitive benefits package including:

Do you have the skills?
We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:
* Previous experience working as an Underwriter, including at least 3 years' experience specifically within the Asset Finance market.
* Specialist knowledge of the Asset Finance sector, including product types, funding structures, and asset values.
* The ability to review data, identify potential issues or risks, and apply sound commercial judgement.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and justify your analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders confidently and clearly.
