Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 22.5hrs a week
3 days over Monday-Sunday (days and times may vary due to service needs)
Location of post: Working across Margam Country Park, Gnoll Country Park and Afan Forest Park.

A rare vacancy has arisen to join the team at Margam Country Park, one of Neath Port Talbot’s premier tourist destinations. Recently voted among the top ten most popular parks and green spaces in Britain, Margam Park offers a unique and vibrant working environment.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to support the day-to-day estate management of the park. This includes general maintenance of the grounds and assisting with the care of livestock within the Farm Trail.

The main duties of the post;
1. Carry out routine grounds maintenance, including grassland and woodland management.
2. Ensure the park remains safe, clean, and welcoming for all visitors.
3. Undertake repairs and maintenance across the estate, including: Structures, walls, fences and gates, Watercourses and drainage Train track maintenance Playgrounds, footpaths, and cycle paths
4. Assist with the deer management programme as required.
5. To maintain the livestock within the park to a high standard, ensuring appropriate record keeping, high standards of animal welfare, and feeding practices (placing hale bales out for cattle/deer, etc.)
6. Operate and maintain chainsaws, with responsibilities including tree felling and pruning (training provided if necessary).
7. To operate a wide range of agricultural and grounds maintenance machinery.
8. To interact with visitors to the park providing live interpretation regarding the livestock as required.
Qualifications
Chainsaw certification is desirable, but training can be provided.
