This is a fulltime, permanent position. Please note, working hours for this role consist of 12 hour shifts, both Days (07:00 – 19:00) and Nights (19:00 – 07:00) over a 3 week rotational shift pattern. An example working pattern would be:
Week 1: Days, Days, Nights, Nights, REST.
Week 2: REST, REST, Days, Days, Days.
Week 3: Nights, Nights, REST, REST, REST.
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and innovative Pilot Plant Chemist in Drug Substance Manufacturing.
* Operating a modern Pilot Plant facility.
* Following detailed GMP batch instructions to complete tasks such as solids and liquids charging, reaction monitoring, reaction work-ups, crystallisations and waste management.
* The role also involves GMP in-process analysis using techniques such as HPLC, KF and GC to monitor the progress and success of on-going reactions.
* Learn new processes to operate safely and compliantly in the client’s facility.
Qualifications
* A Degree, MSc, MChem or equivalent in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. The degree course must contain a significant number of organic chemistry modules if it isn’t a straight chemistry degree.
* A sound, fundamental knowledge of Chemistry and analytical science is essential.
* Previous Pilot Plant knowledge and experience within a pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing facility is highly desirable.
* Engineering skills would be desirable.
* Knowledge and experience in the use of techniques such as HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher and UPLC within a GMP environment is essential.
* Knowledge and experience of drug substance analysis, is an advantage.
* An understanding of the drug development process would be desirable.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot issues relating to instrumentation and analysis as required.
* Proven ability to investigate questionable/ OOS results and providing support for pilot plant investigations as required.
