About the role
Balfour Beatty is looking for an experienced Foreman – Overhead Lines (OHL) to support increasing demand across our Power Transmission & Distribution projects.
This role will see you leading site-based OHL operations, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of high voltage overhead power transmission works across multiple locations uk wide.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead a small team of 4–6 OHL Technicians, ensuring safe and effective delivery of works
* Supervise day-to-day site activities including installation, maintenance and refurbishment of overhead power lines
* Plan and allocate work, ensuring teams are briefed on tasks, risks and safety precautions
* Drive high standards of health, safety, quality and productivity at all times
* Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and ensure compliance with safe systems of work
* Liaise with Site Engineers, other Foremen and project teams to coordinate activities and maintain progress
* Ensure materials, plant and equipment are available and used efficiently
* Report and support investigation of any incidents or near misses
* Act as a competent person, interpreting permits, RAMS and ensuring safe working practices
Who we’re looking for
* Proven experience working within Overhead Lines (OHL) or the power transmission sector
* Strong supervisory or foreman experience leading small teams
* Ability to work safely in high-pressure, site-based environments
* Good communication and leadership skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Flexibility to travel and work across England & Wales
Desirable
* OHL authorisations and plant tickets
* First Aid certification
* Strong knowledge of power transmission construction activities
