One of our clients are looking for an experienced Planner to assist them working on a nuclear decommissioning project.
* 6-month contract
* Outside IR35
* Hybrid - 3 days in Manchester office
As a Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and managing project programmes, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring accurate updates and reporting. Initially, you will work with the QS team to cost-load the existing programme of works. Once accepted, you will manage subcontractor plans and integrate updates into the overall programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop breakdown structures, quality criteria, and monitoring strategies.
* Validate project assumptions to ensure realistic and achievable plans.
* Interface with project controls to align financials with the project plan.
* Support optimisation of delivery through resource smoothing and rescheduling.
* Identify resource requirements for project delivery.
* Ensure stakeholder requirements are reflected in reporting.
* Provide planning advice and promote best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proficient in Primavera P6.
* Experience in cost and resource-loaded plans.
* Understanding of Earned Value Analysis.
* Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
* Excellent MS Office proficiency.
* Proactive approach to identifying savings and mitigations.
Desirable
* Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and risk tools.
* Experience in project controls within regulated environments.
Qualifications
* Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths.
* Desirable: HNC/HND or degree in a planning-related discipline; APMG Project Planning and Control Practitioner; PMI-SP certification.
