Position Summary
The Project Engineer will be part of a team for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) based engineering installation activities in support of O&G and renewables projects performed with Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group (OPG).
Typical work scopes will include but not be limited to installations, light construction, diving and inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) work scopes.
Engineering will be conducted from the United Kingdom or Norway based office with short term deployment to EMEA to support projects as required. The Project Engineer responsibilities will include technical evaluations, writing/reviewing detailed technical reports and procedures, conceptual engineering, and oversight of work performed by Installation Engineers. The Project Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and day to day to project managers as needed.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Carries out tasks as assigned by the Engineering Lead. Tasks would generally be focused on technical issues but will sometimes require administrative and project management functions.
2. Work with Project Manager(s) to ensure all project objectives, schedule, deliverables and milestones are met.
3. Support the installation engineering of subsea hardware, including development, evaluation, engineering, design, controls, procurement and construction phases of project implementation in order to ensure project completion as efficiently and effectively as possible.
4. Create installation engineering procedures and specifications for compliance with design principles, applicable standards, and customer requirements.
5. Prepares design changes, specifications, schematics, and test plans for installation equipment and subsea hardware. This may include locating equipment and assisting with vendor selection.
6. Conduct engineering calculations and analysis.
7. Prepare installation and maintenance procedures.
8. Review product designs, conducts and attends Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and System Integration Tests (SIT).
9. Prepare presentations, articles, and technical papers.
10. Interface with Document Control, Design Analyst and Design/Drafters during the course of project work
11. Interface inside and outside a meeting setting with project team members and Clients.
12. Can perform non-engineering activities such as oversight of offshore operations and on-site oversight of OPG projects and subcontractors.
13. Sporadic Work and travel in EMEA, both onshore and offshore, can be expected.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
14. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil or Ocean Engineering)
15. Graduate engineer with some years relevant experience.
16. Knowledge of MathCAD, 3D CAD, 2D AutoCAD;
17. Ability to travel internationality for work scopes
18. Valid driver’s license
19. Valid passport
20. Must be able to obtain:Seamen’s bookPetroleum Education Council (PEC) Basic TrainingBasic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
DESIRED
21. Experience in installation of subsea hardware and umbilical/flowline using ROV/divers
22. Prior experience working Internationality
23. Experience with conflict resolution and change management
24. MS Office.
