Are you looking for a role where your presence truly matters? We are recruiting compassionate and dependable individuals to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Autism (ASD) and behavioural needs in schools across South Bristol.
This rewarding opportunity involves supporting children and young people aged 5–16, helping them feel safe, understood, and confident in their learning environment.
You will primarily support pupils who may experience:
Autism (ASD)
Behavioural and emotional regulation needs
️ Communication and social interaction difficulties
Anxiety and related challenges
No formal qualifications are required — your empathy, patience, and willingness to learn are what matter most
About the Role
Start Date: ASAP (ongoing throughout the academic year)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time only
⏰ Hours: Typically 8:30am–3:30pm (may vary by school)
Progression: Opportunity for a permanent contract
Your Responsibilities
Deliver dedicated 1:1 support to help pupils access learning
Support pupils with ASD using structured, consistent approaches
Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour positively
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities
Support pupils in line with their EHCPs
Build a trusting relationship that promotes safety, routine, and engagement
Assist with classroom tasks, transitions, and emotional regulation
About You
Passionate about supporting children and young people
Calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
Confident communicator with a proactive approach ️
Interested in autism, behaviour, and inclusive education
Experience with children is helpful but not essential — full training provided
