Role OverviewTechMet are recruiting for a Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team delivering industrial automation projects across a wide range of industries.This is an exciting and diverse opportunity suited to an engineer looking to expand their expertise into robotics, bespoke machine builds, and process-style systems, while taking ownership of full project lifecycles.You will manage bespoke industrial projects from initial customer engagement through to quotation, proposal, design, build, installation, and commissioning, working closely within a multidisciplinary project team.The role requires a strong understanding of industrial customer requirements, alongside the ability to manage technical delivery, timelines, budgets, and client expectations.You will also contribute technically to projects within your discipline, whether mechanical design, electrical design, PLC/SCADA programming, robotics, or commissioning activities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage full project lifecycle delivery of industrial automation projectsEngage with customers from initial enquiry through to project completionPrepare quotations, proposals, and technical documentationOversee project timelines, budgets, and delivery milestonesCoordinate with internal engineering teams and external stakeholdersSupport mechanical and/or electrical design activitiesContribute to PLC, SCADA, or robotics programming and commissioning (where applicable)Ensure successful installation and commissioning of systems on customer sitesDeliver complete project documentation packagesRequirementsDegree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or related field)Minimum 4 years experience in Project Engineering within an industrial environmentExperience delivering CAPEX machinery or upgrade projects preferredStrong understanding of industrial engineering project deliveryDesirable SkillsSolidWorksAutoCADEPLANPLC/SCADA systemsRoboticsElectrical designPneumaticsHydraulicsTo apply please forward your CV (in Word format) using the link provided.Or Please click on the View Profile link at the top of this ad for contact details & if necessary leave a voice message and we can arrange a confidential chat at your convenienceTechMet are a dedicated Engineering and Technical Recruitment Consultancy.
