Buyer - Fareham, Hampshire

We are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join one of our key clients in Fareham. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established and highly respected organisation, joining a collaborative on‑site procurement team of four.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded Buyer with a strong engineering or manufacturing background, looking to play a key role in developing a high-performing supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-end purchasing of raw materials, mechanical components, and subcontract services
* Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, including performance evaluation
* Negotiating pricing and contracts to meet cost and budget targets
* Managing supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery metrics
* Raising and managing purchase and subcontract work orders
* Collaborating with internal teams to support production and new product development
* Building and maintaining strong, long-term supplier relationships
About You:
* Proven experience as a Buyer within manufacturing or engineering
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Knowledge of materials, machining, and surface treatments (metals preferred)
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems
* CIPS/APICS qualification (or working towards) desirable
* Aerospace sector experience advantageous
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
