A fantastic opportunity became available for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our friendly maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis at our site in Newmarket.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
* Ensure that all Health and Safety policies are followed and report any concerns to the Health and Safety Consultant and line manager.
* Planning and the undertaking of scheduled maintenance – liaise with external. contractors to ensure tasks and duties are completed in full.
* Responding to breakdowns across the site as and where required.
* Responsible for organising external contractor requirements for the Maintenance Department.
* Diagnosing faults and repairing equipment across the site.
* Obtaining quotes for specialist components, fixtures or fitting.
* Keeping update maintenance records.
* Review work instructions and ensure they are all up to date and fit for purpose.
* Work with colleagues to ensure all duties are covered.
* Ensure departmental KPI data is updated at all times – working with Admin to ensure these are maintained correctly during all periods.
* Assist with Permit to work processes for all Maintenance contractors onsite, issuing where required.
* Step up and cover in for the Chief engineer for holidays as and when required.
* On-call responsibility for when called out of hours – any works undertaken will be paid as overtime or time off in lieu.
* Liaise with all internal / external departments on progress status of breakdowns and essential issues onsite.

* Accountable to – maintenance engineering

Education and Experience
* Solid understanding of EHS legislation and ideally a recognized formal qualification – Aspire to achieve IOSH as minimum
* Electric & Electronics experience
* Multi Maintenance Engineering
* Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing and application of suitable techniques.
* Introduction to repair and operating packaging machines (Multivac, sealers, conveyor …)
