We are seeking a well-versed and experienced Womenswear Jersey Designer, ideally with some graphic and print experience to join a highly successful fashion supplier working with major high street retailers.
Based in London, this role requires a creative individual who can design inspiring, trend-led jersey pieces. You will work across fashion-forward womenswear jersey multi-product ranges for a number of well-known retailers. We are looking for someone who is self motivated, bubbly and a collaborative team player who works closely with Designers and Account Managers, contributing to both product and creative direction. Ideally, you will also have a strong eye for print and graphic design, with the ability to develop original artworks that enhance the overall product offering.
This role offers hybrid working.
Main Responsibilities
* Research, develop, and design across womenswear jersey product, identifying key seasonal shapes, fabrics, and trends.
* Design and develop original prints, graphics, and artworks to complement product ranges.
* Create innovative design concepts through in-depth trend research and inspiration.
* Develop jersey ranges aligned with each customer's brand DNA, producing detailed technical packs.
* Present trend research, concepts, and ranges to Buyers.
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of jersey fabrics and garment construction.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external teams, working closely with production.
* Build strong relationships with factories, advising on direction, silhouette, construction, fabrics, trims, and artwork.
Person Specification
* Proven experience as a commercial womenswear designer, specialising in jersey.
* Strong understanding of jersey fabrications and construction.
* Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop, with the ability to create high-quality CADs and print/graphic designs.
* A strong eye for trend, colour, and artwork placement.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.
* Highly organised, with a clear understanding of deadlines and critical paths.
