Job Description:
Abbey Medical Centre welcomes applications for a full time (8 session) salaried GP position starting in November 2025 due to the retirement of one of our partners. We are a large practice based in the heart of Paisley, and pride ourselves on being a friendly, cohesive, and supportive team. Currently we have around 12,000 patients, six GP partners, and two salaried GPs, and are supported by two highly experienced ANPs, two practice nurses, and an excellent and well organised admin team. We have additional support from the local pharmacy hub, practice support pharmacists, in-house physiotherapy, phlebotomy services, community mental health nurses and link workers.
We are a forward-thinking practice, and engage with the local GP cluster, and encourage attendance at local CPD afternoons. We have excellent communication within the team and GPs and nurses try to meet daily over coffee. We offer a combination of pre-bookable and on the day appointments, with the choice of face to face or telephone appointments. Emergencies and house calls are triaged by our ANPs in the morning and by a duty GP in the afternoon who has protected time with no pre-booked appointments. We regularly review our appointment system.
We currently use EMIS and Docman and have advanced workflow management to reduce paperwork, and a robust call and recall system in place.
The position would attract a golden hello payment for eligible candidates. Salary and annual leave is competitive, and the practice provides medical indemnity through the MDDUS.
