Location: Blackburn with Darwen Position: Full-Time Level 3 Teaching Assistant Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday Salary: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision school in Blackburn with Darwen. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to support students who face additional challenges to mainstream education. You’ll play a key role in delivering tailored educational support, encouraging personal development, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Your Role: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students across primary and secondary age groups, helping them access the curriculum and develop key skills. Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development, using a compassionate and flexible approach. Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that students can engage and participate to the best of their ability. Help create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment, supporting students in building confidence and resilience. Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor and track students’ progress, adapting support where necessary. Offer general support across the school, helping with other tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day activities. What We’re Looking For: A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience in supporting students in an educational setting. Experience working with students who may have additional educational needs, behavioural challenges, or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting young people who may struggle in mainstream education. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
