Role Overview
As a Technical Seamstress, you'll work in the workshop, handling fabric pieces from cutting through to final finishing. Your work will involve creating bespoke blinds and other soft textile products, ensuring precision, consistency and premium quality in every item.
WORKING HOURS 32 Hours a Week - Mon - Thur : 9 - 4pm
Key Responsibilities
* Measure, cut, stitch, assemble and finish textile components (blinds, curtains, soft furnishings) following detailed specification and fabric type
* Operate sewing machines and other equipment (e.g., overlockers, blind-making machines, finishing tools)
* Maintain stitch quality, ensuring clean, accurate seams and finishes
* Handle tasks such as installing linings, tapes, and fittings with precision and care
* Inspect finished goods for defects and ensure they meet company quality standards
* Maintain organisation of fabric, accessories and workspaces so production flows smoothly
* Follow safety procedures and good workshop practice
What We're Looking For
* Sewing experience, ideally in a textile, upholstery, blinds or soft-furnishings environment
* Good technical sewing skills: able to work with different fabrics, understand structure (linings, interlinings) and handle finishing details
* An eye for detail and strong manual dexterity
* Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to learn and follow instructions
* Ability to work under direction but also independently when needed
* Good time management to maintain production schedules
