As the Readymix Technical Optimisation Manager, you will report into the Technical Manager and be responsible for a team of three direct reports. In this position, you will be leading the central Ready Mixed Concrete laboratory team in the design, development, and optimisation of innovative concrete products and technologies. Furthermore, the role focuses on driving technical advancements, supporting sustainability goals through lower carbon solutions, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities in this role as a Readymix Technical Optimisation Manager will include (not exhaustive):
1. Leading and managing the central Readymix laboratory team
2. Ensuring operations are to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency
3. Driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge concrete technologies; ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and market demands
4. Providing expert guidance on concrete mix design and product optimisation
5. Utilising data analytics and performance metrics to continuously improve mix designs, production processes, and product performance
6. Overseeing research and development initiatives focused on low-carbon solutions, alternative materials, and performance-enhancing additives
7. Managing the full lifecycle of concrete products from concept and design through testing, launch, and post-launch optimisation
8. Playing a key role in establishing and growing the Tarmac & CRH Innovation Centre of Excellence, fostering a culture of experimentation and knowledge sharing
9. Championing sustainable construction practices and contributing to the company's net-zero and circular economy initiatives

We are looking for a Readymix Technical Optimisation Manager who is ideally educated to a bachelor's degree level, preferably in a business or technical related subject, has demonstrable experience in the construction markets in a technical management role, and can demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills, preferably in a laboratory environment.
