Description

We are recruiting a Support Worker to support one of our clients with Cerebral Palsy. The salary for the role is £16 per hour, depending on experience.

Are you who we are looking for? Here is a message from him:

Are you fun, energetic and organised?

“Hi, I am 11-year-old young lad looking for a Support Worker to join my existing team - I don’t care what your age, gender or orientation is, but I would prefer someone enthusiastic that can think outside of the box to keep me busy and safe.

You should have a great sense of humour, are kind, honest and happy to support me in getting out and about and completing my therapies. I need support with my personal care and all aspects of daily living, I use a wheelchair to get around, although I can walk small distances with support and I have my own wheelchair accessible van. I’m very active and I like all things sensory so you must be creative and be prepared to keep up with my change of activities. I live with my family who are very important to me.

I am looking for a Support Worker to join my existing team and support me to reach my rehabilitation goals and make sure I am well looked after and accessing activities that I enjoy.

If you are interested in joining me, please apply".

Duties

Your duties will include supporting our client to access the community and engage in social and leisure activities, following therapy programs, maintaining and completing household duties, assistance with all daily living activities, personal care, administering medication and attending appointments.

Key skills, knowledge and experience
You should have previous experience of working in the Health Sector.
UK Driving licence and familiarity with driving a Wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), training will be provided.
You should be trained to NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or have equivalent experience e.g. completed year 1/level 4 of a recognised health profession degree course)
