Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager within SSE North Scotland to lead project managers overseeing teams installing electrical power distribution and transmission systems from 11kV to 132kV. The role focuses on delivering safe, profitable, timely, and high-quality networks that meet customer needs and enhance the company's reputation.
The Senior Project Manager will manage their own projects and supervise multiple project managers handling diverse electrical network projects concurrently. These projects may include installation of ground-mounted and structure-mounted power system components, cable systems, switchgear, transformers, busbars, relay panels, and related equipment in substations up to 132KV.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead multiple project managers and teams, building confidence and supporting business growth, while reporting to the Operations Manager.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project teams and manage client relationships effectively.
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, undertake site supervision roles as required, and manage contractor and subcontractor activities.
* Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective resource allocation, project delivery, and team development through regular performance appraisals.
* Control resources, including materials, equipment, and labor, for ongoing projects.
* Maintain good commercial awareness, complete valuations, and produce accurate project documentation such as as-built records and reports.
Qualifications and Experience
* HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Operational knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
* Site safety passport and experience working on CDM sites.
* SSSTS or SMSTS certification is desirable.
* Possession of SSE DNO authorization or equivalent for PTW management.
