 
        
        Job Summary
An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified CBT Psychological Therapist to join the integrated mental health and justice pathway working across three local prisons in Norfolk (HMP Wayland, HMP Norwich, HMP Bure). The role is part of a small, highly experienced, supportive IAPT team focused on providing therapeutic assessment and treatment to the prison population. Therapeutic modalities offered include CBT, CAT, counselling and EMDR.

The post holder will have excellent therapeutic skills, cultural competency and be able to be responsive and flexible in a busy prison environment. You will be given autonomy to manage your caseload with support from the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
 * Provide therapeutic assessment and treatment interventions to the prison population at HMP Wayland, HMP Norwich and HMP Bure.
 * Engage with individuals who have previously not connected positively with mental health services, empowering them with skills that equip them for life upon release.
 * Work autonomously with support from the team and collaborate with prison services, drug and alcohol services, mental health teams and general medical teams to ensure a holistic approach to care.
 * Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, meeting service standards and regulatory requirements.
 * Participate in clinical supervision, audit and quality improvement activities.
 * Travel independently across the three sites.
 * Drive the role across multiple prisons where public transport is unavailable.
Qualifications
 * Health or social care professional qualification (RMN, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology, Diploma in Social Work or equivalent).
 * Postgraduate diploma in CBT, CAT, family therapy or equivalent.
 * Professional registration and BABCP accreditation as a CBT/Therapist (or equivalent).
Experience
 * Documentary evidence of continuing professional development.
 * Experience of group work in mental health settings.
 * Training and ability to deliver other therapeutic approaches such as DBT, EMDR, IPT.
 * Extensive experience in specialist assessment skills in CBT/therapies.
 * Substantial experience in a forensic or secure setting and managerial/clinical supervision of others in an IAPT context (desirable).
Knowledge and Skills
 * Specialist knowledge of CAT/CBT protocols and treatments.
 * Awareness of other therapeutic approaches and their application.
 * Accreditation with BABCP or ACAT (essential).
 * Willingness to share skills and promote patient care.

Salary and Working Pattern
Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per annum gross (pro‑rata) – Band 7. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Part‑time, flexible.
