The role:
1. Oversee the RH transport fleet and ensure vehicles are properly maintained, repaired when needed, and on a regular preventative maintenance schedule.
2. Track vehicle telematics to monitor driver performance and identify any issues or training needs.
3. Ensure the transport fleet meets all regulatory and compliance requirements.
4. Proactively managing and motivating the team and the shift, engaging colleagues to ensure the best performance.
5. Encourage a culture of excellent customer service ‘right first time’ with the team.
6. Manage the team to achieve targeted daily and weekly Key Performance Indicators and improve our RH Net Promoter Score
7. Ensure department operates in line with all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and Safety
8. Ensure processes and procedures are adhered to throughout the operation, with exceptional focus on health and safety.
9. Ensure sufficient resource is available in order to meet performance expectations, including managing recruitment and agencies.
10. Responsible for driving high levels of employee engagement through development of colleagues, regular 1-1 reviews, participation in site activities etc.
11. Work closely with RH Shift Manager, RH Warehouse and RH Planning teams.
12. Ensure that any performance, conduct, or capability issues are thoroughly investigated, and any required resulting actions are completed in a timely manner.
13. Make any necessary alterations to the RH Transport plan, providing feedback to the RH & Wincanton Planning team where required.
The Person:
14. Experience of managing large transportation fleets of 25+ vehicles
15. Successful track record of controlling fleet costs through data-driven decision making.
16. Experience implementing transportation management systems for efficient fleet administration.
17. An experienced Supervisor with Delighting the customer with the delivery service focus within in a Transport environment.
18. Energetic, resilient, flexible and go the extra mile.
19. Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office programs.
20. Excellent communication skills
21. Works well under tight deadlines with a keen eye for detail and a right first-time approach.
22. Good knowledge of Transport legislation
23. Experience of Kronos time management and Oracle is an advantage.
24. Able to work shift work, including weekend working (required)
