Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners

Alliance Psychological Services is an independent provider of counselling and psychological therapy services in the Tees Valley and the broader Northeast. We work in partnership with Teesside Mind to deliver the Impact on Teesside Talking Therapies service.

We are recruiting several Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) to start the course at Newcastle University in October 2026. Successful candidates will need to start in the role before the course begins to allow time to learn about Impact and complete an induction. They will complete the Low Intensity Psychological Therapies PGCert course during their first year. Salaries for the PWP training posts will be £26,000 per annum, increasing to £27,000 per annum once qualified.

All candidates must have a permanent right to work in the UK; we do not provide sponsorship for these roles.

Whilst this role will offer some remote work up to one day a week, it requires face‑to‑face work in an office across Teesside and attendance at the course on campus at Newcastle University.

Trainees will be employed by either Alliance Psychological Services or Teesside Mind; terms and conditions will vary accordingly.

Applicants who have used AI in their application should declare this.
