We are seeking an experienced Senior Bid Manager / Work Winning Lead to join a leading UK Main contractor with a track record of delivering iconic projects across commercial, residential, infrastructure, and specialist sectors.
This role will be central to driving the company’s growth strategy, ensuring bids are coordinated, compelling, and aligned with client expectations. You will oversee the full work winning lifecycle, from early business development and capture planning through to tender submission and post‑award requirements. Working closely with senior stakeholders, consultants, and supply chain partners, you will help shape winning strategies and strengthen relationships across the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the end‑to‑end bid process, from early engagement and win strategy development through to post‑tender requirements.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
* Develop and manage bid programmes, ensuring tasks are resourced and delivered on time.
* Prepare and monitor bid budgets, maintaining financial control throughout.
* Ensure compliance with corporate governance and company processes.
* Draft and review qualitative responses, ensuring submissions are persuasive and client‑focused.
* Facilitate bid review sessions, driving continuous improvement.
* Maintain accurate bid data within the company’s CRM system.
* Contribute to the wider Bid Management team, supporting process improvements and evidence gathering.
Essential Skills & Experience:
We are looking for a collaborative and adaptable professional with proven experience in private sector bidding. You will be confident managing complex governance requirements and leading multidisciplinary bid teams to deliver high‑quality outputs under tight deadlines.
* Strong background in work winning and bid management within the Tier 1 Main Contractor sector.
* Demonstrated ability to manage corporate governance requirements.
* Skilled in leading and motivating multidisciplinary bid teams.
* Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Construction, Engineering, or Business.
* Excellent leadership, mentoring, and negotiation skills.
* Flexible approach to working across different sectors and geographies.
* Highly developed organisational, planning, and communication skills.
