REDA Energy is an independent oilfield chemical supply company with operations and technical centres around the world, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. We specialise in solving production chemistry challenges within the Oil and Gas sector by collaborating with our clients, whilst drawing on our extensive experience and capability in this market segment. We custom formulate treatment packages and solutions for our customers which include demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, wax and asphaltene control, scale inhibition, antifoams, biocides, deoilers and a range of additives for drilling and cementing applications.
Due to continued business growth and recent contract awards REDA Energy are looking to attract motivated and self-starting individuals for the following position:
Laboratory Chemist
We are looking for proactive and detail-orientated individuals to join our small, dynamic laboratory team. This hands-on role involves the manipulation of chemicals, so familiarity with standard wet chemistry and analytical techniques is essential. You will contribute to a variety of technical projects, in support of the technical sales team, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
In addition to a strong scientific background, the ideal candidates will be clear communicators who enjoy problem-solving and thrive in a collaborative team environment. Experience working with oilfield production chemicals is desirable but not essential.
Key responsibilities:
· Manage multiple projects and work requests in a fast-paced lab setting
· Development, formulation, and qualification of REDA product ranges in the laboratory.
· Conduct product performance screening and support development initiatives
· Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, including ordering of consumables.
· Contribute to the product stewardship for REDA products, including safety and technical datasheet generation, and label production.
· Implement and uphold QHSE standards, including COSHH and risk assessments.
· Customer project and tender support, including report writing and presentations as required.
· Customer support and meeting attendance as required.
· Liaising with raw material suppliers and industry associations
· Any additional duties as designated by Laboratory/Technical Manager
Qualifications and Experience:
· Education: BSc. in chemistry or relevant physical science.
· Experience of either a working laboratory (in industry, academia, or internship-based) or chemical yard is desirable
· Knowledge or experience of oilfield or industrial chemicals is advantageous but not essential.
Skills:
· Strong technical skills in laboratory analysis and equipment operation.
· Excellent written communication for technical reporting.
· Must be detail-orientated, conscientious, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills to build good working relationships with laboratory and operations teams.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
