As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be one of our first hires and be instrumental in building the core systems that power our service, from secure data infrastructure to AI-integrated APIs. You’ll join a mission-driven, collaborative team working at the frontier of health and technology.
What You’ll Do
* Design and implement secure, scalable backend systems and databases
* Build APIs that connect with modern LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, open-source models)
* Own and evolve infrastructure (some DevOps responsibilities included)
* Contribute to architecture decisions and write clean, maintainable code
* Collaborate across disciplines to ship impactful features quickly
* Help shape how healthcare tech can be safe, fast, and deeply human
What We’re Looking For
* 5+ years of backend engineering experience
* Strong Python skills (and curiosity about other modern languages)
* Experience with SQL and database schema design
* Track record building secure systems—MFA, RBAC, encryption, privacy by design
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD workflows
* Thoughtful communicator, especially in distributed teams
* Startup mindset: proactive, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity
* Bonus: experience with healthcare data, compliance, or enterprise deployments
