NI System Planning Manager (Exclusive) VANRATH are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative utility provider based in Belfast to recruit an NI System Planning Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join the business at the beginning of a new chapter of enhanced system planning for the NI gas transmission system. Reporting to the General Manager, the NI Gas System Panning Manager will be responsible for initially implementing the new business function within and on an ongoing basis ensure deliverables are met, namely the production and publication of the Gas Adequacy Statement and the Energy Horizons document which will consider the future energy landscape in NI, highlighting the requirements of the NI gas transmission network. Defined bonus scheme Flexible/hybrid working( 2 days office) On site parking The Role: Implement and have overall responsibility for the new NI System Planning business function to deliver the Gas Adequacy Statement and the Energy Horizons publications Define, manage and implement the communications plan associated with NI gas system planning ensuring a high level of stakeholder engagement, promoting both the new business function and the ongoing yearly reports and key findings to multiple stakeholders Engage with policy makers, industry, operators, academia and any other relevant stakeholders to gather data and information to feed into the definition of scenarios to be utilised in system and energy modelling Coordinate and collaborate on the system planning publication process alongside the equivalent electricity system operator (SONI) system planning work, ensuring alignment and agreement on assumptions, scenarios and timelines where required; Work closely with the relevant NI gas TSO departments to define scenarios and assumptions to ensure system modelling reflects the future energy climate in NI Project manage and facilitate the end-to-end development of the system planning publications to ensure timely delivery whilst managing internal and external stakeholders Attend and participate in various working groups and for a to ensure knowledge sharing of local and UK wide policy affecting NI energy strategy Engage and present the final reports to industry via bilateral meetings, presentations or industry conferences and promote the outcome of the documents produced to a wide variety of stakeholders as appropriate Carry out internal training and knowledge sharing centred on system planning Provide subject matter expertise on NI system planning, representing the NI gas TSOs in any related engagement with internal parties or external parties at local, UK and the European level, including attending forums, working groups and responding to consultations Develop the NI system planning function in line with future requirements of the NI Gas TSOs About you 3rd level qualification; Significant relevant experience gained in an energy environment, ideally within the power/gas sector Knowledge and experience of renewable energy policy relating to net zero relevant to the utilities industry Knowledge of various renewable energy technologies and their applications across multiple vectors Exceptional proven communication and stakeholder management experience Strong project management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively Sound judgement and decision making skills and ability to work under pressure Strong organisational and analytical capabilities with attention to detail, high levels of integrity, and professionalism at all times, with a proven ability to multi-task Enthusiastic, committed self-starter with a proactive approach to all aspects of work Ability to set own high standards of performance and deliver desired results.
