Paraplanner/Technical Analyst
The Role:to support the Partner and Financial Planners when informing and advising clients on financial strategies, plans and products.
Key Requirements and Skills:
1. Thorough knowledge of product research and analytical tools
2. Good team working and liaison skills to deal effectively with tasks set and provide support for other team members
3. An understanding of FCA regulations and guidelines relating to financial services clients
4. Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of products and related issues through formal and informal learning, both internally and externally
5. Good communication skills (written and verbal) that are effective and meet business needs
6. Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
7. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
8. IT skills commensurate with computer packages used including detailed understanding and use of Enable (our CRM tool)
Key Responsibilities:
9. The technical aspects of preparing for client meetings, including:
10. Preparing and compiling financial analysis - asking Technical Assistants to obtain data as required
11. Analysing client data and preparing cash flow analyses
12. Researching products to support recommendations
13. Compiling financial planning recommendations and suitability reports
14. Providing support for the Client Partner and Financial Planner
15. Ensuring that all regulatory and compliance standards are met
16. Liaising with product providers and other relevant third parties
17. Ensuring that all client requirements are followed through to the appropriate conclusion
18. Managing, recording and monitoring client annual reviews on behalf of the Client Partner and Financial Planner(s)
19. Prepare all relevant paperwork for client meetings - with help of Technical Assistant where appropriate
20. Assisting the Technical Manager with annual technical reviews of services and products
21. Prepare O&M reports for more complex cases, request and check Technical Assistant to do straightforward cases
22. Pension contribution checks including carry forward
23. Produce correspondence to clients, providers and third parties as appropriate, in an efficient and professional manner
24. Represent the business at client meetings and BDM meetings as required
25. Keep up to date with market conditions and the strengths and weaknesses of competitors to support effective decision making
26. Attending Investment Committee and taking minutes for circulation
27. Draft Your Financial Plan and review with Client Partner
28. Draft complex suitability letters to be approved by Financial Planner and instruct Support Assistants and approve straightforward suitability letters
29. Point of contact for clients
30. Promoting the profile of the business within the profession and wider communities
