Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking an experienced and motivated Pre-sales Engineer to join our innovation efforts and support our customers in the Global High Tech (GHT) .
We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical background, who is ‘hands-on’, ideally with practical field/application experience, who is self-motivated, enjoys versatility and work across different topics and projects, has a desire for collaboration and is a creative problem solver.

The main responsibilities of the role are to:
5. Solution Architecture:Design end-to-end technical architectures for water treatment, monitoring, and sustainability platforms.

6. Client Engagement:Collaborate with sales, engineering, and service teams to understand client challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
7. Commercial Excellence Key Responsibilities:
8. Proposal & Communication Development
Draft, edit, and deliver proposals that integrate input from sales, marketing, and technical experts.
Ensure messaging highlights contractor needs, compliance, and value propositions.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the communication bridge across commercial and technical functions.
Translate technical details into clear, customer‑friendly language.
10. Customer-Centric Focus
Prioritize contractor requirements in all communications (where our PO comes from).
Present operational outcomes as secondary benefits, reinforcing efficiency and reliability.
11. Quality & Consistency
Maintain consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across proposals and communications.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
12. Continuous Improvement
Collect feedback from contractors and internal teams to refine communication strategies.
Support the development of templates, best practices, and knowledge libraries.
13. Innovation:Drive adoption of smart water management technologies, including IoT, predictive analytics, and digital twins.
14. Compliance & Security:Ensure solutions meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.
15. Collaboration:Partner with product managers, R&D, and field engineers to deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions.
16. Documentation:Maintain architectural blueprints, roadmaps, and technical governance standards.
Qualifications and experience:
17. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or similar)
18. Proven experience in designing complex technical solutions or architectures (industrial systems, water treatment, or infrastructure projects)
19. Experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or technical consulting roles
20. Strong capability to design end-to-end system architectures
21. Knowledge of:
Water treatment systems
Monitoring and sustainability platforms
22. Familiarity with IoT, digital platforms, predictive analytics, digital twins
23. Ability to define and maintain:
Technical roadmaps
Reference architectures
Technical governance frameworks
Solid understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity principles
Experience working closely with customers and sales teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
Ability to design tailored, value-driven solutions addressing client challenges
Strong communication skills to present complex architectures to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to align multiple stakeholders and drive solution development from concept to deliver
Experience working in matrix and international environment
Strong attention to technical governance and standardisationù

Ability to balance big-picture thinking with technical detail
