The Role
As a Test Engineer, you will work on planning, developing, and implementing e-drive and xHEV/ICE Petrol test processes and facilities. You will provide design validation through PiL (Powertrain in the Loop) and ViL (Vehicle in the Loop) testing, ensuring the system meets performance and regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities:
1. Automating test processes, developing test plans, and collaborating with engineers to ensure the quality and reliability of powertrain systems.
2. Ensuring vehicles meet emissions standards.
3. Designing and executing tests to verify emissions control systems in petrol vehicles.
4. Testing and evaluating emissions produced by petrol engines.
5. Meeting regulatory standards and contributing to vehicle performance and efficiency.
6. Working within OEM emission testing facilities, utilizing tools and equipment to analyze exhaust gases.
7. Focusing on testing MHEV systems.
8. Understanding design and validation principles of MHEV systems and components.
9. Gaining experience in Power Electronics application and integration.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
1. Experience in ICE and MHEV propulsion systems.
2. Test automation for VIL/PIL, MHEV system testing, Gas path emissions.
3. Expertise in test creation, execution, and delivery.
4. Proven PiL/ViL testing and validation experience.
5. Knowledge of test planning and emission regulations.
6. Understanding of ICE gas path chemistry.
7. Calibration knowledge and sensor control.
8. Experience with hybrid systems fault finding, development, or testing.
9. Experience working in engineering facilities and vehicle testing environments.
10. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive, or electrical engineering.
11. Experience in VIL and PIL automation.
12. Experience in powertrain systems engineering and gas path.
13. Understanding of MHEV system testing and validation.
14. Strong communication skills.
15. Technical curiosity and analytical skills.
16. Team player with interpersonal skills.
