Supporting people to live great lives
At Affinity Trust, we empower people to lead meaningful lives on their own terms. As a support worker, you will play a key role in promoting independence and building social connections. Your support will make a real difference in their lives.
Who will I support?
You will be supporting gentlemen in their home in Ashford. They enjoy getting out and about and each has access to their own vehicle, so you must hold a full UK manual driving licence and be comfortable driving their cars. In this role, you will take the initiative to encourage independence while building positive and meaningful connections with them.
You will need to be flexible and available to work a range of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, waking nights, and alternate weekends.
How will I make a difference?
As a support worker you'll be there to lend a helping hand in a way that puts the person's needs first, which means:
* You will adapt your support to fit what each person needs and wants daily.
* You will encourage people to make their own choices, big and small.
* You will help people to do things themselves to be as independent as possible.
* You will support people to build confidence and life skills.
* You will support people to be part of their community, joining local clubs and connecting with friends and family.
* You will be understanding, allowing people to take their time and do things at their own pace.
* You will celebrate people's achievements, no matter how small they might seem to others.
What benefits will I have?
We offer a range of benefits that you can customize to suit you, such as:
* Wagestream - an app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, along with coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback, and more.
* Blue Light Card - we reimburse your Blue Light Card membership, which provides discounts in shops and restaurants.
* Simply Health - fully funded health cash plans including a 24-hour GP, prescriptions, dental, opticians, and more.
* Vivup - spread the cost of home and electronics items, or a bike for commuting, through salary deductions.
* Buy and sell annual leave - transfer windows open twice a year.
* Pension and Life Assurance - enrolled into our Scottish Widows pension scheme and Life Assurance scheme.
