A specialist independent school in West Sussex is seeking a dedicated andpassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join its team supporting autistic children and young people. Your new role

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to support pupils aged 11–19 in accessing learning and developing essential life skills. The role involves building positive relationships, promoting independence, and helping students engage confidently with their education.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting pupils in lessons, small groups, and 1:1 sessions
2. Assisting with adapted learning materials and differentiated activities
3. Encouragingmunication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
4. Promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing
5. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
6. Contributing to progress reviews and supporting EHCP targets

What you'll need to succeed

The school wees applicants with experience in education, care, or youth support, as well as those with transferable skills and a passion for working with young people. You will be well suited to the role if you are:

10. A strongmunicator and team player
11. Keen to learn and develop professionally
Experience supporting autistic young people is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
