Our client is delivering a major, high-profile industrial project in the Southwest, forming a key part of the UK’s green industrial transformation.
The first phase involves the design and construction of a landmark manufacturing facility, including extensive infrastructure and ancillary buildings. Once operational, the site will be one of the largest production facilities of its kind in the UK.
Our client is now looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager (Project Controls) to join their senior commercial team.
The Role – Commercial Manager (Project Controls)
This is a senior position within the commercial function, working closely with the Project Controls and leadership teams. You will play a key role in protecting commercial performance while supporting delivery of a complex, high-value project.
Key responsibilities include:
·Full commercial management of major work packages.
·Procurement, tendering and contract administration.
·Negotiation and agreement of compensation events (NEC).
·Managing subcontract accounts through to final account.
·Resolving payment issues and disallowed costs.
·Deputising for the Project Commercial Director when required.
·Risk management, cost control and value optimisation.
·Maintaining strong client relationships in a live project environment.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
·Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major construction projects.
·Strong NEC contract knowledge (essential).
·Background in CM or PM contracting environments.
·Excellent commercial awareness with a focus on profit, cash and risk.
·Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
·Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar.
·Track record working for a main contractor on large-scale projects.
