Nature Recovery Manager – Forestry England, Yorkshire District
Forestry England is a leading national organisation dedicated to nature recovery across England’s forests. Your role will be based in Pickering, with a move to Dalby Forest Office by autumn/winter 2027, and will involve frequent travel across Yorkshire.
What You’ll Do
Lead a programme of ambitious nature recovery projects, including landscape‑scale Wild Areas, species reintroductions, and the creation of dynamic habitat networks. Provide leadership to a small team of specialist project officers; support and oversee project delivery; develop and track budgets; manage risks; and engage stakeholders. Your ecological knowledge and project‑management experience will drive the scaling of evidence‑based recovery work.
Where You’ll Work
Initially at Forestry England’s Yorkshire Office, Pickering. The role will relocate to Dalby Forest Office in autumn/winter 2027. Regular travel across Forestry England’s estate in Yorkshire and occasional trips outside Yorkshire for meetings may be required, sometimes including overnight stays.

Key Qualifications
Ecological knowledge, experience in project management, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, budget stewardship, effective stakeholder engagement, and a track record of delivering nature recovery outcomes.
