The University of York is seeking a Research Fellow to join the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Support Service (RSS) Hub hosted by the University of York, in partnership with the Universities of Sheffield and Leeds. The NIHR RSS provides seamless access to support, advice, research design and collaboration from pre-application to post-application for researchers working across the remit of NIHR in England. The RSS is provided through eight Hubs across England who come together as the National Collaborative.

Role


We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to play a key role in the work of our RSS Hub as an Advisor specialising in the provision of advice and support on research inclusion to researchers seeking support from our Hub. You will also collaborate with colleagues on the design and delivery of workshops and other events for researchers, networking and stakeholder engagement.


Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

* A PhD in an area relevant to applied health research or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of research inclusion and undertaking research with underserved populations
* Knowledge of a range of research techniques and methodologies including approaches to underpin equality, diversity and inclusion in research
* Comprehensive knowledge of NIHR, other relevant research funding streams and UK research landscape
* Experience in incorporating patient and public involvement in research
* Experience in designing and/or implementing strategies/methods to support research inclusion
* Highly developed communication skills to engage effectively with a wide-ranging audience, both orally and in writing, using a range of media
* Ability to lead and/or take responsibility for a small research project or identified parts of a large project
* Ability to persuade and influence project stakeholders
